Telcoinabox
Australia's only white labelled, full service telecommunications franchise system came to us with a number of complex problems.

Problem definition:Telcoinabox selected a known player in the industry for billing and provisioning. Unforunately the billing house was unable to cater for Telcoinabox and its fast moving requirements set. The result was that systems rapidly became unusable. As the escalating demands came through, development costs skyrocketed and delivery became challeneged. As a result the business took measures into its own hands and started implementing solutions outside of the billing and provisioning system. The end result over 13 systems were in operation. Franchisees needed to have in-depth knowledge of a number of disparate, non linked sites. This meant double entry errors, revenue leakage and poor end to end visibility of the business. Telcoinabox had to take other options to ensure business continuity and a clear direction forward, both for them and their valued franchisees.
Requirement:Telcoinabox franchisees are typically not from the telecommunications industry. In a fast paced business the sooner franchisees can be trained the sooner they can go to market and start aquiring customers. As Telcoinabox released new products and services the training in systems and products created massive overheads. Telcoinabox engaged Utilibill to provide a purpose built solution that would address the needs that were current but also offer flexibility to introduce new products without major re-engineering.
Solution:Telcoinabox now has an end-to-end delivery system that has reduced required systems from 13 to 1. Utilibill delivered a 100% web based hosted solution. Infrastructure included Dell Blade servers, High end backup equipment and SAN services, This was delivered with Mirosoft SQL 2005 and JAVA, SOAP and AJAX. Telcoinabox is now a far more efficient business and is set to heavily scale up in the following 24 months. As telecommunications prices continue to fall, vendors and resellers need to ensure their operating costs also follow this trend. Utilibill addressed this problem by adding large scale automation, customer self help and a solution that is user friendly making user experience very simple, even though the processes they are carrying out are highly complex.
